Winter Weather Business Goals

If you are located in the DMV Area like the Casey Renae Design Agency is then you are currently in #Blizzard2016! Instead of suffering from Cabin Fever like most, take this time to update and plan for your business. Since it is still January, you have plenty of time to get a game plan together for this business year. So here are five suggestions from me to you, to help you promote and prepare your business for the rest of this year (you should be able to do this in just 2 days, well… maybe more because this is some serious snow)!

  1. CLOSE for the next two days. Become unavailable. Make this your time for business and even family. Focus on in-house operations… literally!
  1. Make a list of all the things that your company is missing. For example, after my revamp I still have yet to order new business cards and I need to make my questionnaires interactive. Once you realize what you’re missing get to it or send out an email to a designer (HI! *waves vigorously*) about your needs.
  1. Besides tangible items check your stats! Sometimes we get so busy that we forget to check our stats. Compare last January to this January and see if you are losing visitors and clients or gaining them. If losing, what’s different? What can you do to place yourself back in the forefront?
  1. Reach out! This is a big one. This is the perfect time to generate content for a newsletter or email blast. Need new emails? Log onto social media. If you have a target audience you are trying to reach, look for their emails. Chances are they are on Facebook or IG. Once you send an email the worst that can happen is they unsubscribe. I promise it’s ok, the world will keep spinning and the snow will keep falling!
  1. Have you advertised before? And no, I don’t mean on your own social media page. Start to look at your favorite blogs and sites and inquire about their advertisement pricing. A lot of business owners get scared that it will be pricey with no return in investment. If this is the case contact one of the companies who are currently advertising on their blog and or website and politely ask them “have your sales/clients grown since advertising with xxx?” Or if you are too nervous to do that, simply ask the blog/website to provide you a snapshot of their traffic.

So here it is! Five steps to get you closer to the business you will quit your9am-5pm for (or plan too anyway). Enjoy!

My Best,
Casey Renae
